Jason Wu Cocktail Party

There is no surprise that designers are the celebrities I dream of meeting and learning from. I had the opportunity to try out the new Lancome line by Jason Wu and attend the cocktail party after his appearance at Nordstrom. I quickly connected with him and was delighted that he was open to answering a few of my questions about business and fashion. I took away great insight about the importance of working hard and going beyond everyone’s expectations. It was a great honor to hear him tell me that he really appreciated that I was able to follow my passion at a young age and become successful. Jason started designing dresses for dolls at age 14, when his family moved from Taiwan to Vancouver to provide him a better opportunity to follow his calling. After the inauguration gown he created for Michelle Obama in 2008, his clothing line quickly took off, he was only 24 years old.

This opportunity I had led me to look deeper into my future business plans and begin a new project. As a wardrobe stylist, I literally do it all. The marketing, advertising, sales, office cleaning, etc. As much as I love the variety of my day-to-day tasks, he reminded me to surround myself with people I trust to help me accomplish my goals.

Could there possibly be another designer like Jason Wu? His story is absolutely inspiring to me.
