Not-so-conservative business attire

Is it possible to be stylish while looking appropriate for work?  I love the comfort of a billowy top and fitted cardigan. The geometric pattern makes a neat alternative to a conservative button up and transitions nicely into happy hour.  We certainly can all thank Michelle Obama for revolutionizing office attire with the cardigan.   The cardigan is practical and super chic way to incorporate a bit of color!

Switch out your pencil skirt for well tailored trousers instead. I must admit that these are the only “trouser-like” pants I own and when rolled up they instantly feel more modern.  You can find great retailers that carry professional slacks and trousers but stock inventory with attention to trendy touches.  Check out Banana Republic, JCrew and Ann Taylor as these stores offer alternative options making it easy to incorporate texture, color and pattern while upholding your dress code policy.

I agree your that your flats are an easy go to but take into consideration your posture.  I prefer to wear heels with these trousers to elongate my petite frame. Remembering the importance of sartorial balance, you can effortlessly switch out the open toe shoe with your favorite closed neutral pump or really amp it up with a similar colored patterned pump.

So good luck ladies!  Your newfound fashion confidence has just been elevated and that promotion is just around the corner.  Go and get it.
