My inner happy hippie child comes out with playful pieces like this blouse from American Alchemy. The beauty about fashion today is how blurred the lines are for casual wear. Personally, I prefer to tap my style level up. If I’m in beautiful pieces that show off how I’m feeling, I’m actually more in sync with myself. It’s not about trying to fit my surroundings, it’s about fitting my mood or helping lift my energy to where I’d like to be. This embroidered top has a mix of my favorite feminine details with the billowy sleeves and rose stitching. Although it’s a statement piece, it can actually be worn a few different ways to really change it up. Wear it like I have it on in the photographs or have it open with a lightweight layering piece to display your flirty camis underneath. You can also reverse it and have the neckline up higher and the ties in the back for a cleaner look. My favorite way is this one, the v-neck is slightly sexy and breaks up the black that can sometimes look really dramatic against my darker hair.
The trick to dressing this up? I actually have it paired with a ponte work-like pant from Ann Taylor but just rolled up for a more laid back look. The pants are super soft and stretchy which make it really versatile for styling. I’m not one to wear black head to toe and always need some kind of color, I added a denim heel to enhance the boho feel of the look.
Remember, this is a crop top and adding a loose cami underneath is essential to make this work appropriate. For weekend wear you can absolutely show off the midriff with a high waisted pant. Adjust the fit of the waist by cinching it in our out, I like to make it look more fitted to create the illusion of a waist on my more square figure. It’s all about how you style it!
How would you wear this blouse? I’d love to hear your thoughts.
