One of the best parts of being a personal shopper is helping others make sense of why they love something, what attracts someone to a certain color, style, or brand. I’m a sucker for jewelry because I believe jewelry can really create a look that is unique to you. I know some of my clients prefer not to wear any due to coming off too flashy, they can’t justify the cost, or they never end up wearing it, but for me it’s the icing to my look. It’s the one things that I feel can really tie my outfit together.
Last night I was at my friend’s home for an open house jewelry party with pieces from her online boutique JJ Caprices. Goodness, it was like a candy store for me looking at the jewelry, trying everything on. What ended up catching my attention most were the women there. I’m not one to always talk to everyone but I couldn’t help but strike a conversation with these ladies and share with them pieces I thought would look great with what they were wearing. I even asked some of them about their purchases. Yes, jewelry has a special place for everyone and finding what connects with you gives you more reason to reach for that piece and share your story with others.
Char was walking around and immediately gravitating towards jewelry that was a little more traditional, such as earrings with pearls, and delicate silvers. I saw this circular earring with small white flowers along the border and told her would go with everything! When she saw herself in the mirror she fell in love with how different it was than anything she would normally purchase on her own. It even matched her outfit which was a huge plus and the other ladies approved.
A gift for her daughter
Gifting jewelry is very special because it’s one of those momentos you can pass down in the family and the people close to you. Katie is a new mom and she was in love with the two interlinked hearts representing her and her daughter. Her baby can’t wear it now, but it’s something she wants to save and gift her when she gets a little older and share the importance of the bracelet with her. Awww it was precious!
Mother’s Day Gift ….. to herself!
When you find a pricey piece you love, it’s alway nice to just tell your husband you are buying a gift for yourself! Put it in a box and say from hubby, open it up and act surprised. I know I’ve done this, I’d rather get something I love and will wear all the time. Just remember to tell everyone he got it for you. *wink, wink
Trip to Mexico Earrings
When you’re going someplace tropical and fun, you MUST get colorful, bold jewelry for your trip. Phyllis was open to trying on anything, and when I saw these earrings I felt they were perfect. They weren’t too shiny or too big and could be paired with shorts, dresses and even that maxi she’s wearing in the picture (which she said was definitely going to Mexico with her).
Big and Crazy
It’s funny how the more you put yourself out there, the more comfortable you get with showing parts of you that you toned down a little in the past. These earrings represent where I’m at right now. With all the exposure of having to be on video and on stage, I’ve had to be brave and bold. These earrings make a statement of that part of my life right now.
By the way, this picture of me was spot on, going to have to wear that outfit again and hold up this drawing. Galina from Drawing Blueberry is super talented, I truly appreciate the gift she has to sketch and how she can share her art.
Definitely check out JJ Caprices website, the beauty of her pieces are that they collections from around the world. There’s something for everyone.
